Some days, resistance arrives before the work.
It sits heavy in the chest. It argues in practical language.
It says today is not the day.
Most people try to defeat it.
They look for motivation.
They wait for clarity.
They negotiate.
That only feeds it.
Consistency is not born from enthusiasm. It is born from showing up anyway.
Zen teaches that you do not remove the obstacle.
You bow to it and continue.
On resistant days, the practice gets smaller. You sharpen one pencil.
You write one honest sentence. You send one necessary email.
You sweep one corner of the floor.
Not to win.
Not to feel better.
Just to keep the rhythm alive.
Consistency is a vow to the process, not to your mood.
Resistance is weather. Practice is climate.
You do not need to feel ready. You need to be present.
Return to the mat.
Return to the desk.
Return to the work.
Even when every part of you resists.
Especially then.
Filed Note
Resistance is not a stop sign.
It is the signal that practice matters today!
