Stone Balancing

It’s part journal, part dojo. A digital sketchbook from a life spent building—not just buildings, but systems, ideas, businesses, and a way of being.
I’ve spent 30 years living between two worlds—architecture and construction. I’ve been an architect in the studio, a contractor in the field, and a consultant in the trenches. Along the way, I’ve studied Zen, business, creativity, and the philosophies that help a builder live with both discipline and direction.
This blog is where I make sense of all that.
The Field Philosopher is a place for:
Builders who think
Thinkers who build
Anyone who believes the way we work is a reflection of the way we live
You’ll find stories from my own projects, thought leadership from the front lines of design and making, and lessons from decades of trial, error, and evolution. I’ll also be sharing ideas from my upcoming book, The Tao of the Unfinished Masterpiece—a philosophy of living and building with mastery in mind.

LET'S TAKE IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL
