The Trades as Masters – Installment 3

They rise before the city does.

Not metaphorically literally.

Harnessed to the heavens.

Balancing steel where only wind dares walk.

You've seen them barely.

A silhouette on a beam.

A flash of arc light.

A lunch break taken mid-air.

They don't just lift steel.

They lift entire cities.

Column by column.

Connection by connection.

Welded. Bolted. True.

Ironworkers don't talk about strength.

They show it

in stillness,

in balance,

in the quiet courage of altitude.

They build the frame others will follow.

The rest of us build on what they erect.

Every skyline

begins with their boots on steel.

Field Note:

Before the finishes and the fanfare, there is only structure.

And structure belongs to the ones who work where gravity hesitates.

To lead, to build, to rise, you first need a frame that holds.

Honor the ones who set it.
